Thanks for your input and encouraging words, Julia. Your comments seem to be oriented to analyzing the gender gap in companies in multiple professions. While that is valuable and we may write about it in the future, the article we wrote focuses on the gender gap in software engineering as a profession both inside and outside of companies (therefore the title of the article).

We provided several data sources that clearly show a wider gap in Latin America compared to the US. For example, the second paragraph has three data point with links to its sources.

In the United States, the percentage of female computer- and information-science majors stands at 18 percent. In Universidad de Buenos Aires, the largest university in Argentina, the number is ten percent. Universidad Nacional, the largest university in Colombia, comes in even lower at nine percent.

As we find more information, we’ll share it. As we research the topic, we’ll also look into the data points that you suggest: women in leadership roles and in executive roles.
